After leaving school, Simon’s gardening career started with him working for a tree surgery company for a year. This was followed by three years in commercial horticulture, growing food crops in both protected environments and the open ground.
Since that time, he has worked in amenity horticulture for over 30 years, including 4 years as a day release student at horticultural colleges in Cambridge and Writtle.
During those years Simon has worked as a head gardener at Trinity College in Cambridge, Leith Hall in Aberdeenshire and Inverewe Garden in Wester Ross.
For the past 11 years, he has run his own business as a garden consultant/designer/roving head gardener for a variety of properties, ranging from small domestic gardens to large estates in Scotland, with occasional forays as far south as London.
